May was like every other month, comprised of days and daze, toils and troubles, boils and bubbles - but also many opportunities masquerading as problems, blessing masquerading as testing, and life masquerading as nothing other than life. Peace, Dwight Lee Wolter.

Have you read "Persuasion"? I read most of Austen's books before that one, and then I read "Persuasion" and it immediately became my favorite. Yours is the third nudge I've had to read "Piranesi," so I think I'm going to put it on hold soon :).

I'll be reading Persuasion along with The Austen Connection here on Substack later this year for the first time! I'm looking forward to it!

I hope you enjoy Piranesi! I'd love to hear your thoughts if you end up wanting to share!

Nice! It’s so good! And the movie (made in the mid-1990’s, I think) is a lovely companion to the book if you like seeing adaptations.

I’ll try to remember to let you know what I think of Piranesi once I’ve read it 💛.

I love adaptations! The BBC version of Pride and Prejudice is one of my all-time favourites. Thank you for the recommendation!

I had forgotten about Piranesi. It was so weird! In a good way!

Have you read the Dr. Strange / Norrell (??) something book (oh dear) by the same author? I don’t remember much of the details but loved reading it some time in my 20s.

And the mention of Lumberjanes always brings a smile to my face. I haven’t read any but my children always bring home at least one from the library. I think of you when I see it laying around the house :)

I haven't read Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell yet, but I added it to the queue! I've heard it's quite different than Piranesi, but I have a feeling I'll enjoy it.

I love that your kids love Lumberjanes! I hope mine will, too, but I don't mind enjoying it on my own. It's a wonderful series.
